These rules should be treated as a non-exhaustive list of rules and best practices to follow when developing with Spredfast's APIs. Some of these rules are not strictly enforced by the APIs, but we reserve the right to do so.
Our goal is to make our customers happy, and these rules help us to meet the needs of all of our customers.
You can hit authenticated APIs up to 15 times in 15 seconds per API key. You can thread requests to these APIs as long as you keep under the stated usage cap.
If you need to read data for visualization purposes use the Stream API. These limits do not apply to unauthenticated APIs.
APIs used for visualization purposes that don't need an API key have very high API usage caps. There is no hard number, but if you plan on hitting these APIs at a rate of more than 100 per second let us know.
There are limits to how many sources, rules, and topics a stream can have. These apply when managing streams in the UI or through an API.
- Sources: 100 sources per stream
- Topics: 30 topics per stream
- Rule-conditions: 30 rule-conditions per stream
- Nested stream sources: 1 level deep
Exceptions to these limits can be made in writing.
